The inorganic thermal insulation materials with fire-proof nature will naturally reappear in front of people after solving the problems of waterproof and strength, and it is bound to become the development direction of thermal insulation materials.




    1. It is an important development direction of thermal insulation materials to pay more attention to moisture-proof and waterproof performance. The water absorption rate is an important factor to be considered when selecting thermal insulation materials. The thermal conductivity of water at room temperature is 23.1 times of that of air. After absorbing water, the thermal insulation material will not only greatly reduce its insulation performance, but also accelerate the corrosion of metal, which is very harmful. The space structure of thermal insulation materials is divided into several types: connected, closed and semi closed. Except for a small number of organic foam plastics, most of them are closed, and other insulation materials, regardless of the void structure, are water absorbing materials, and the capillary with interconnected pores permeates and absorbs water, so the overall water absorption rate is very high. At present, most of the thermal insulation materials in our country are not hydrophobic and have high water absorption, so the waterproof requirements of the external protective layer are very strict, which increases the cost of the outer protective layer. At present, organosilicon water repellent is a kind of high efficient water repellent for thermal insulation materials. Its hydrophobic mechanism is to effectively change the surface characteristics of silicate materials by using the strong chemical affinity between organosilicon compounds and inorganic silicate materials, so as to achieve hydrophobic effect. It has the characteristics of good stability, low cost and simple construction technology.




    2. The fire resistance of thermal insulation materials, in recent two years, building fires occur frequently, and external thermal insulation materials become the focus of attention. At the same time, people's life is bound to determine the development direction of thermal insulation materials. Strict implementation of the "No. 65 document" issued by the Fire Department of the Ministry of public security is beyond doubt. Don't talk about what to prevent fire, should start from insulation system, material integrity and construction management and other aspects. To improve the fire resistance performance of thermal insulation materials, the state gives policy care, and the domestic A-class insulation materials will certainly develop rapidly.

    3. The research of inorganic thermal insulation materials (such as vitrified beads) should focus on reducing the energy consumption in the production process, limiting the emission of dust and fiber, and reducing the amount of binder. Organic insulation materials (such as polystyrene foam insulation, polyurethane foam, etc.) should be focused on finding more suitable foaming agents instead of F11, improving the flame retardancy of materials and reducing the production cost of materials.     4. Develop multi-functional composite thermal insulation materials to improve the thermal insulation efficiency and expand the application of products.




    At present, there are different degrees of defects in the application of thermal insulation materials: under the moisture state of perlite, corrosive calcium oxide is easy to exist, and it is not easy to use in low-temperature environment due to its moisture retention for a long time; glass fiber is easy to absorb moisture, which is not suitable for low-temperature environment, nor suitable for temperature environment above 540 ℃; Mineral wool also has water absorption. It is not suitable for low temperature environment. It can only be used in high temperature without water. Polyurethane foam and polystyrene foam are not suitable for high temperature, and flammable, shrink and produce poisonous gas. Foam glass is sensitive to thermal shock and is not suitable for rapid change of temperature. Therefore, in order to overcome the shortcomings of thermal insulation materials, various countries have developed lightweight multifunctional composite thermal insulation materials.
